Kim played on the Professional Women’s Virginia Slims Circuit 10 years. During her career, she reached #42nd in the WTA in Singles and #29 in world doubles. Kim competed at US Open and Wimbledon for 10 years. She also competed for 7 years at French Open and 4 years at the Australia Open .

Kim became the first African American woman to receive a scholarship to the University of Miami both Basketball and Tennis. She was the University of Miami’s head tennis coach for 8 years. Several All- Americans players received training from Kim. She was Voted as the Big East Conference Coach of the year 4 times. Kim has over 35 years to tennis coaching under her belt. she is still active playing pickle ball, and doubles in the field.

She received a Bachelor of Education degree, from University of Miami.
